The Day

No surprises.
Here's exactly what happens.

Rion structures every workshop around real shooting time — not slides and theory. You will have a camera or phone in hand within the first 30 minutes.

9:00 AM
Welcome & Orientation
Introductions, gear check, and a quick look at what makes a phone photo actually work — or fail. Everyone shoots the same object. Rion shows you what he sees.
9:30 AM
Light Fundamentals (Demo + Hands-On)
Natural light, window angles, bounce cards, and blockers. You'll build a three-point window light setup from scratch using materials that cost under $10.
10:45 AM
Composition & Styling
Rule of thirds, negative space, surface selection, and prop layering. Rion walks through the seven composition mistakes most business owners make — and exactly how to fix them.
12:00 PM
Lunch Break (provided)
60-minute break. Lunch is covered. Tables are set up — bring your work and share with the group or just decompress.
1:00 PM
Shoot Your Own Product
Bring one of your actual products. This is your session. Rion circulates, gives individual feedback, and adjusts each setup. No generic drills.
2:30 PM
Mobile Editing Workflow
Lightroom Mobile, color grading, and export settings for web. You'll export three finished, ready-to-post images before the day ends.
3:30 PM
Group Review & Q&A
Everyone's best shot goes on screen. Rion narrates what's working and what to adjust. Open Q&A until everyone is satisfied.
5:00 PM
Wrap & Resource Pack
Printed workbook, digital resource pack, and community access. Rion stays for 30 minutes after for anyone with additional questions.
What to bring
  • 📱Your smartphone, fully charged
  • 📦One or two of your actual products
  • 📒A notebook (or not — we cover everything in the workbook)
  • ☕Nothing else — coffee and lunch are provided
All lighting modifiers, backgrounds, props, and styling materials are provided. You do not need to buy anything before attending.
9:00 AM
Welcome & Gear Check
Introductions, camera setup, and a tour of the studio. Rion assesses each participant's current baseline — where you are is the starting point, not a judgement.
9:30 AM
Manual Exposure Mastery
Aperture, shutter speed, ISO — the triangle demystified. Rion uses live histograms and real-world examples to make exposure intuitive, not formulaic.
10:30 AM
Multi-Light Setup Lab
Key, fill, hair, and background — how each light works and why. You'll build three different looks from scratch: clean e-commerce, editorial, and dramatic.
12:00 PM
Lunch Break (provided)
60-minute break with lunch provided. Rion is usually still at the table if you want to keep the conversation going.
1:00 PM
Color Science & Reproduction
Rion's signature unit — how color behaves across cameras, screens, and print. Why your product looks different on Instagram than on your website, and how to fix it.
2:00 PM
Shoot Your Own Product
Full studio access. Rion and each participant work through a custom setup for their specific product. You will have usable images before the day ends.
3:30 PM
Professional Editing Workflow
Lightroom Classic, camera calibration, and export profiles tuned for web and print. You'll leave with a Lightroom preset built for your specific product type.
5:00 PM
Group Review & Lighting Diagram
Each participant's best shot reviewed. Rion draws and sends a custom lighting diagram for your specific setup — a document you can recreate on your own at home.
What to bring
  • 📷Your camera and any lenses you own (studio loaners available)
  • 💻Your laptop with Lightroom if you have it
  • 📦One or two of your actual products
  • ☕Nothing else — coffee and lunch are provided
Full studio lighting, modifiers, stands, and backgrounds are provided. If you don't own a camera yet, studio loaners are available at no extra cost — just let us know when you register.

Alumni Voices

From people who
were where you are.

"
I'd been paying a photographer $400 per session. After Rion's workshop, I shot our entire fall line myself. The workshop paid for itself in the first week.

The color section alone was worth every penny. I finally understand why my products looked wrong on Amazon. Fixed it in one afternoon after the workshop.

I was skeptical — I've watched a ton of YouTube tutorials. But Rion watches you shoot and tells you what you specifically are doing wrong. That's something YouTube can't do.

I brought my partner to the workshop too — best business decision we made this year. We came back with a complete shoot system and got our first wholesale client three weeks later.

Before You Book

Questions, answered honestly.

No gatekeeping, no vague answers. If something isn't covered here, reach out directly.

Still have a question? Email Rion directly →
Track A requires zero experience. If you own a smartphone, you qualify. Track B is appropriate for anyone who owns a camera or has completed Track A — some familiarity with your camera is helpful but not required. Rion meets every participant where they are on day one.
Bring whatever camera you own — DSLR, mirrorless, even a bridge camera. If you don't own a camera yet, studio loaners are available at no extra charge. Just select the loaner option when registering and Rion will have a kit ready for you on the day.
Yes — and you should. Groups of 2 or more registering together receive a 10% discount on both seats. Use the group booking option at checkout or email Rion to arrange it. Many participants bring a partner or team member and find it doubles the value.
Bring one or two of your actual products — ideally something you're currently selling or planning to sell. Small to medium products work best in the time available (think: candles, skincare, food, accessories, ceramics). If your product is large or fragile, email Rion ahead of time and he'll advise on how to handle it.
Full refund up to 14 days before the workshop. Within 14 days, your seat transfers to a future date at no extra cost. Cancellations within 48 hours of the event are not refundable — but can be transferred once. If Rion ever has to cancel a date, everyone receives a full refund plus priority booking for the rescheduled date.
Yes, lunch and coffee are covered for all participants. You'll note any dietary restrictions during registration — Rion coordinates with the venue to accommodate them. No one goes hungry, and no one needs to leave to find food.
Yes. Rion tours quarterly and city requests directly shape the schedule. If enough people from the same area express interest, a date gets added. Use the "Request a city" link anywhere on this page or email Rion directly with your city and he'll keep you posted when a date is set.
Ready to Book

Shoot like you
mean it.

One day. Eight people. Direct instruction from Rion. You'll leave with finished images and a system you can use for every shoot after.

Bringing a team? Group bookings (2+) save 10% — email Rion to arrange.
